Pink, Green and Yellow: A Color Combination Made for Spring

Spring has arrived! It’s a time of transition and new growth. It’s a time of green grass, green leaves and Cherry Blossoms. Out of all the things that remind me of spring, nothing says spring to me more than the colors of pink, green and yellow.

Color Meaning and Symbolism

Pink is a color that symbolizes love, friendship, and femininity. It can be a soft and gentle color, or it can be strong and bold. Sometimes pink can be the star of the show or a supporting cast member. It all depends on which pink hue you decide to use and the amount of pink you use in your project.

Green represents growth, harmony, and balance. A deep green hue is vibrant and represents health, strength, and renewal. To make the color combination work, select a green hue that compliments the pink hue you’ve chosen.

Yellow is a color that symbolizes happiness, energy, and optimism. Use it to add a pop of color to your project to convey a bright and sunny mood. A softer yellow hue would be a great compliment to the pink in green hues chosen for your project.

Creating a Cards with Pink, Green, and Yellow

Wondering how, you can use this color combination in handmade cards? Try one of the following:

  1. A nature themed Thank You card featuring green foliage and pink and yellow flowers.
  2. Welcome a new baby with card featuring a soft pink background, a green patterned paper, and yellow embellishments such as stars and hearts.
  3. A Birthday card featuring a yellow background, pink and green patterned papers, and embellishments such as buttons and ribbons in all three colors.

Where You Can Find Paper in These Hues

If you would like to try this color combination out for yourself, the Close to My Heart Cosette Paper Packet has these colors in bold and soft patterned paper designs.  If you are not sure about patterned paper, you can test the waters with the Cosette Coordinating Cardstock Paper Packet. The cardstock paper pack includes pink, green, yellow and some additional neutral hues.
